The Gold Rush in New Zealand
In the 19th century poor people rushed to find gold in NZ because it was a way to get out of poverty. It started in 1852 in Coromandel then spread to the South Island, especially in Otago in 1861. where 265 tonnes of gold were found.
1: It is very rare to get this much gold but sometimes there is this much but you need to find a really good river or go gold mining
2: If you're lucky you can find big chunks of gold like this it would be very very rare to find
3: Sometime you have to find rivers to find gold. Some are popular for gold so they will go there |
